We all know that squirrels are almost supernaturally clever when it comes to eating bird food. Thankfully, this Made in the USA feeder is smarter!
The best feature of the Woodlink Absolute II is that the weight of a squirrel on the perch causes the food to be closed off by the feeder. Unless you have particularly smart squirrels that have developed some sort of hover technology, they will be defeated by this feeder. When the offending squirrel moves off of the feeder, the spring-loaded mechanism opens the feeder again automatically.
Another favorite feature of the Woodlink Absolute Squirrel Resistant Bird Feeder is that it allows you to adjust the weight setting that causes the feed to be cut off. This means that you determine which size and types of birds get to feed at your feeder. One downside can be that if you set the weight limit to low, and then attract a lot of birds, the combined weight of the birds can cause the food to be closed off. If you are unsure, you can run a trial because each side can be set to a different weight setting.
Squirrels also cannot get into the easy-to-fill top of the feeder. Woodlink’s special TopLoc feature securely locks the lid when closed, and keeps the lid open when needed.
The squirrels are also going to be disappointed to find that there is very little dropped food on the ground. This is because the Absolute II Bird Feeder includes a baffle designed to prevent food waste. This, in addition to a 2 gallon food capacity, means that you won’t have to tend to this feeder very often. Bird seeds are dispensed on both sides of the feeder, which means more birds can feed at a time. And still, very few seeds will drop to earth. Of course, a picky sparrow looking for his favorite seed may result in some seeds on the ground, but far fewer than with other feeders.
The angled roof of this excellent feeder directs rain away from the food, while adding to the rustic visual appeal of the feeder. The roof acts like a hat for your feeder!
The Absolute II arrives fully assembled. It can be pole mounted (5 feet high pole included!) or hung. This Woodlink feeder is designed to last for many seasons; it is constructed from powder coated steel.
